We’ve earned our Platinum Seal of Transparency with Candid! which Is the highest level of transparency! Check us out!

The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction recently announced it has earned a Platinum Seal of Transparency with Candid, a nonprofit watchdog that provides comprehensive data and insights about the social sector.

Each year, Candid researches millions of nonprofits that spend trillions of dollars around the world to learn where that money comes from, where it goes and why it matters.

Its platinum seal indicates that the auction and its umbrella foundation share clear and important information with the public about goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements and progress indicators that highlight the difference the auction makes in the community.

Candid was formed in 2019 when GuideStar and Foundation Center merged. Candid combined GuideStar’s tools on nonprofits and Foundation Center’s tools on foundations, enhancing them with additional resources to offer more comprehensive, real-time information about the social sector.

The Children’s Auction was also recently evaluated by Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest charity evaluator, and earned a four-star rating, the highest possible assessment.

“We are very proud of this recognition because we, as an organization, work diligently to ensure proper use of the funds we raise and to communicate our mission and our efforts to support over 60 nonprofits around the region,” said Jennifer Kelley, the auction’s executive director. “I am thankful for our volunteers, our board members and those in the community who support our work.”
