Some people are nurturers; someone who cares for and encourages the growth and development of others. Meredith realtor Rachel Xavier is one of those people. She leads through example, encouraging her Xavier Group of real estate agents to join in the many fundraising events she champions throughout the year. Her main passion is The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction as she sees it helping a multitude of worthy nonprofits in the Lakes Region. 2024 will be the fifth year. The Xavier Group will be a Sponsor of the Day for the December Children’s Auction. Her agency is also a sponsor of Christmas in July which is a Mount Washington cruise fundraiser. But, if that wasn’t enough, Xavier organizes a Haunted Halloween Walk that raised $5,000 last year for the Auction. She says it’s a group effort that takes about a month to prepare. The event usually draws 1,000 people from as far away as Maine.
Service to others comes naturally to Xavier who says there was a time in her younger years when she was struggling, and she remembers those who reached out to her and helped her center her life. Now that she’s a successful realtor, she feels it’s time to give back. The Good Neighbor Award she earned last year from the New Hampshire Realtors recognizes her many community service projects. On Rachel’s behalf they donated an additional $5,000 to the Auction in 2023. Whether it’s raising $25,000 to match veterans with service dogs or filling food boxes to feed local families at Thanksgiving, Xavier is at the front of organizing to help her neighbors in need. She encourages others to get involved. She says, “if you have an idea, no matter how small, run with it”. She obviously lives what she speaks and the Lakes Region is better for it.
The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction thanks The Xavier Group for its ongoing support.
