The Bank of New Hampshire has been involved with the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction since 2004 and the partnership has been a perfect fit according to Marketing and Digital Media Specialist, Julie Fenn. She explains the bank has a policy of charitable giving that is currently centered on improving the lives of children. “It’s exciting to see the community pull together toward a single goal like raising money for kids through the Auction”, says Fenn. She says she sees that same dedication in the bank’s employees who quickly volunteer to be a part of any community project, especially the Children’s Auction.
Mike Seymour, an employee with Bank of New Hampshire, started his service with the Auction in 2005, at the recommendation of Christopher Boothby, founder of Boothby Therapy Services. Mike starting as a “runner” and Bid Board volunteer for the Auction. Despite the Auction moving to several different locations over the years, Seymour stayed involved, serving as a Board member and eventually becoming the Chairperson for the organization. “My time with the auction was an extremely rewarding and gratifying experience. While I am no longer directly serving the Auction in any official capacity, I am proud to know that my fellow colleague at Bank of New Hampshire, Doug Morrissette, has continued the tradition of leading this critical community effort.”
Doug Morrissette joined the Children’s Auction Board in 2020 as treasurer and is currently serving as Chairperson. “I am truly honored to be part of such an outstanding organization and community that is dedicated to giving back to those in need.”
The bank’s “You’ve Got People” tagline is a way to communicate the relationships Bank of New Hampshire employees build with their customers. When asked what they liked most about doing business with Bank of New Hampshire, clients replied it was the bank employees they interacted with that made the difference. Fenn says, “we want to see our customers succeed”.
The Bank of New Hampshire is the oldest bank in the state and Fenn notes the bank’s mission is to support its communities and its employees. With 21 offices across the state, The Bank of New Hampshire has an opportunity as well as an obligation to make an impact in those communities. Fenn says they acknowledge all of their charitable work with the words, “banking on kindness” as the bank is looking to spread the kindness it has been given back into the bank’s communities.
She says the bank makes a special effort to support local nonprofits that their employees serve, whether they are on a board or work as a volunteer. She sees the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction as a unique opportunity to give back to multiple organizations at once.
The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction thanks the Bank of New Hampshire for its support.
