Synergy is the interaction or cooperation of two or more organisms to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate efforts. The Greater Lakes Region Auction is a perfect example of synergy, notes Bill Ricciardi of The Edge boutique in Center Harbor.
“Seeking synergy is pretty much how advancements are made”, he believes. He and his wife, Jill Weed, followed that belief when they bought their Rt 25 property about 12 years ago and had a vision to renovate a barn on the property into a boutique. They wanted to bring together the energy of dozens of local artists into one place for local residents and tourists to discover. The Edge offers fiber art, jewelry, bath & body products, pottery and Jill’s one-of-a-kind tie-dye and batik clothing. It’s the kind of place where shoppers relax with the store’s vibe while being excited by the variety and beauty of hand-crafted items.
The Edge has been a phone bank sponsor for several years and Jill credits Realtor, Rachel Xavier, with introducing them to the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction and Jill says she appreciates how the Auction works to create a healthier community. Bill again sees synergy at work as the community comes together and achieves more than any one person could have accomplished on their own.
Jill has been creating tie-dyed items for 34 years and works hard to find the highest quality natural fabrics she can and prioritizes Made-In-America garments. She is working on a new technique, to her, called ice-dying that creates a watercolor look that is more subtle than tie-dying. She is using rayon (a natural fabric, who knew?) and bamboo fabrics to create unique garments that feel and look good.
This unique boutique is a must-stop whenever you find yourself around the Big Lake.
The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction would like to thank The Edge boutique for their continued support.
